Join us at the JAG Equestrian Centre, Co Kildare on Thursday 22nd May 2025 for a unique, evidence-based, practical clinic designed for equine professionals who want to assess, address, and improve horse, rider, and saddle interactions in daily practice.

This full-day event provides an integrated, hands-on methodology for identifying and correcting postural and biomechanical issues affecting performance and welfare.

The Goal

To equip professionals with a shared language and practical tools for everyday use to evaluate self-carriage, rider influence, and saddle impact—bridging scientific research and real-world application through a multi-disciplinary lens.

Based on the VBR Method Developed in Sweden in 2016, VBR is a triangulated system for assessing the horse–rider–saddle relationship.

This system has been used successfully by vets, physios, and elite trainers across the disciplines, to assess, prehab, rebalance and improve the performance of thousands of horses.

The VBR Method was recently piloted with Agria in 2024, yielding promising results and fresh insights into equine performance and injury prevention.

Rooted in over 35 years of equine and human biomechanical research and saddle fitting science, VBR’s mission is to integrate complex science into accessible and practical techniques for the field.

Clinic Format

A combination of lecture, live demonstration, and hands-on small-group workshops. The change in topline, when the horse lifts.

What you will learn

How to assess rider balance and vertical alignment, both mounted and unmounted. How to identify equine postural imbalances and common compensatory patterns that can lead to pain or inflammation.

Learn how to assess whether the saddle is contributing to compensation patterns in horse and rider. Saddles are often blamed for issues caused by rider or horse asymmetries / rotation.

Objective measurement helps identify the true source of dysfunction.

How to use repeatable, hands-on assessment protocols that complement your current practice.

Take-Home Easy to Use Tools Hands-on protocols for assessing equine self-carriage and balance.

Practical rider assessment methods to evaluate symmetry, stability and vertical balance Easy-to-apply method to assess saddle shape and its effect on horse and rider.
